VIolin/Viola Lessons

Kate has over 25 years of experience teaching violin and viola lessons to children, adults, beginners, intermediate and advanced students. Her unique musical background makes her an in demand teacher in schools and at her active private home studio in Orange CT.

She offers the study of classical music as well as popular/fiddling/rock and improvisation. In addition to teaching technique, discipline and organization skills, she also forms student ensembles and provides assistance for students joining youth orchestras. A committed music student can gain an edge in the college application process. Several of Kate’s students have gone on to study music in college and music schools; some have even received scholarships.

She started a Strings Program plus taught group classes at an elementary school in Stratford CT for many years. Her experience includes three years in the Continuing Education Department at Sacred Heart University, and two years as Director and primary teacher of a Suzuki School in West Haven CT.
