How can you book OBrien Strings for an engagement?

It's easy, and you can email or call Kate anytime with questions.

Let Kate know the date, time and duration of the event for which you need musical entertainment. She will let you know if she is available to play.

Kate O'Brien will be the violinist on your engagement. She has a select group of violists, cellists, guitarists, trumpeters, flutists, harpists and keyboard players, with whom she has been playing for many years. If Kate is unavailable for your event, she can find a substitute violinist if you wish; she will only send a substitute with your permission.

Decide whether you need an ensemble or solo performance.

Get pricing information by emailing or phoning Kate. She will discuss discounts for longer engagements and possible additional travel fees for longer distances.

If you are ready to book OBrien Strings for your event, Kate will send you two copies of her standard contract: one to keep, and one to sign and send back with a deposit to hold the date. You will need to provide the name, address and phone number of the venue.

Deposits are generally $75 for totals of under $350; $100 for total fees of $350 to $600; and $200+ for anything over $600.

Deciding about musical selections for your event is the fun part! Kate loves to play whatever you truly wish to hear, and will gladly create an arrangement of your special song, given enough advance notice.

OBrien Strings ensembles can play outside from Spring to early Fall, but the musicians must be in the shade (a tree or tent is fine) to protect the varnish of fine instruments. They must be under cover of a tent or porch in case of any rain whatsoever. (If it is too cold for the musicians, it will be too cold for your guests to enjoy being outside also.)
